Instructions for Authors
- To contribute, please send your paper to Contact Person, one of the Contact
Associate Editors or directly to one of the members of the Editorial Board by
e-mail. If submitting an overview paper, send it to the overview papers
editor. All the addresses can be found here.
- Informatica research papers must present original work that has not been
published and is not under review in another journal.
- Contributers of overview papers are asked to pay particular attention to
proper citing of their sources. If they are quoting passages from another
paper, this must be made clear, otherwise the journal may be accused of
plagiarism.
- At least two referees outside the author's country will examine the manuscript
and their comments will be returned to the author. There are four possible outcomes:
- Accept: the paper will be published as is.
- Minor revision: the author will be required to revise the paper as per
the referees' comments. The revised paper should be returned to the editor
with whom the author was in contact together with a seperate file detailing
the changes and the replies to the referres' comments. The paper will be
accepted at the editor's discretion.
- Major revision: the author will be required to significantly revise the
paper as per the referees' comments. The revised paper should be returned to
the editor with whom the author was in contact together with a seperate file
detailing the changes and the replies to the referres' comments. The paper
will then undergo another, final round of refereeing.
- Reject: the paper will not be published.
- Upon acceptance the author will be required to prepare the paper in
either:
- LaTeX using the Informatica Style. The
author will be also required to either (i) include the figures
as Encapsulated Postscript in the text, (ii) provide the Encapsulated PostScript
files, or (iii) provide camera-ready copies of the figures. An
example paper in LaTeX is
provided and should be used as
a guideline for text preparation.
- Word using the Informatica Template.
An example paper in Word is provided
and should be used as a guideline for text preparation.
Authos should make sure that figures used in his paper are legible when printed
in black and white (for example, series in graphs should not be
distinguishable only by color).

Upon publication the author will recieve five reprints of his paper. If he
wishes to obtain the actual journal, he is invited to
subscribe for one year. Individual
issues cannot be purchased.
Opinions, news, conference announcements and reports, calls for papers, etc.,
should be sent directly to the Contact Person.
